"The brilliance of Milt Jackson and Joe Pass are givens -- the surprise is the Basie-led rhythm section (the most laid back in all of jazz) which proves to be the perfect foil for the technical wizardry of the aforementioned Jackson and Pass. The sound created in this album is uniquely wonderful, or wonderfully unique if you like, and the next time anyone asks you why you love jazz, play this album; if they still don't "get it" then write them off as hopeless."
