Album Description"Roberto and his brother Maurizio are the highly advanced life forms crewing the mysterious starship that goes by the name of My Cat Is An Alien (MCIAA), plotting a quixotic course through three millennia of cosmic music, from the celestial drones of the Pythagorean monochord onwards, to land up in the gravity-free realm of the No-mind." -- Tony Herrington, The Wire CD reissue of the first installment in the Cosmic Debris split art/LP series set up by Maurizio & Roberto Opalio. This volume sees the two space brothers alongside Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth) and his all-star ensemble Text of Light (here featuring Alan Licht, DJ Olive, Ulrich Krieger, and Tim Barnes). Their track, "033103 Paris," was recorded live at Centre Georges Pompidou in 2003 and mixed in dual mono by Ranaldo & Licht at NYC's Echo Canyon studio. MCIAA's piece, "Everything Falls Like Cosmic Debris," is a conceptual overture to the whole series, performed in April 2006 at their secret recording space Alien Zone, located in the Italian Western Alps.
