"After hearing "walk away", I was hooked. Little did I know that the rest of the album was even better. If you like Pearl Jam, Better Than Ezra, and/or Live...you'll absolutely love this CD. Just make sure to let the CD run after song 12, b/c the hidden song (at around 13:56) is amazing! It saddens me to think that they aren't selling millions of albums right now. Obviously, they need a new press agent, b/c their music speaks for itself. Trust me- buy it!!"
Probably my favorite cd ever

"I recently rediscovered this cd. I originally bought this cd the month it came out. I enjoyed it then, probably liking four of the songs at the time. Over time I lost the cd and last year got to thinking about it, so I ordered it used for 50 cents. When it arrived I listened to it and liked it even more. I honestly can not believe this cd was not much bigger. If I won the lottery one of the first things I would do is put my money towards rereleasing this cd. I don't care if the band refused to get back together. That is how much I love this cd.
I'm not saying everyone reading this will love this cd. All I can say is this - A music fan whose taste run from Korn's first cd, In Flames, Sarah McLaucklin (sp?), Hour Cast, Sans Seraph, and Demon Hunter thinks this may be the best cd ever."
AMAZING

"One of the most overlooked, underated CDs to come out at the time. Brilliant from start to finish. I hope at least the singer is still doing something, maybe a solo record? Anyone? These guys were magical live and the CD is an absolute masterpiece."
I want more

"When I bought Cool For August a few years back I had no idea who they were. It took one run thru of their cd and I loved it from beginning to end. How can a group so damn good fall off the face of the earth????? Whats happened to them? I want more....."
One Of The Last Great Alternative Bands Of The 90's . . . .
"If this were 2-5 years ago, I would have given this a 5 instead of a 4. It was definitely great for its time, though. It's a shame music like this doesn't seem to come out anymore. I think that the lack of new material (and this particular type of college rock in general) resulted in me losing a slight amount of interest in this cd, despite the fact that "Walk Away" and "Hope I'm Wrong" are two of the best songs I've heard from a band that I accidentally discovered on MTV2 in mid-'97. I actually don't know what was so great about "Don't Wanna Be Here" that I went and bought the cd. It's a good thing that I did, though! At the time, it related to me in a variety of ways, and it made even more sense to me as I grew older. They're also class act guys who perform great live shows. If you know of CFA and feel the need for a similar fix, check out a band called Foam. It's almost CFA, minus the fact that you know better. And I'd like to state that Gordon Vaughn sounds a bit like Peter Murphy (Bauhaus). In general, you can't go wrong by buying this album. You won't hate yourself for listening to it and enjoying it - I promise. Instead, you should hate yourself if you're skeptical of at least giving this band a legitimate chance to appeal to you."
