Synopsis
Amazon.com Coo Coo Cal's Disturbed offers more variety than previous efforts, but his lyrics remain wanting. Beats on the LP come courtesy of Kay-Gees and Big Hank, and though they sometimes contain flashes of originality, for the most part they sound stale and reheated. There's some good collaborations with cats like fellow Midwesterners MC Twista, Koffee Brown, Midwikid, Mr. Do It to Death, Kela, and a few others, but the main reason for digging this joint is Cal's on-point flow and his ability to throw down occasional patches of colorful wordplay. With better production and more-imaginative tales, Cal might just live up to his own hyperbole. --Paul Sullivan Similar CDs

CD ReviewsU GOTTA! forhisdamnself | Planet Groove | 12/05/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "Coo Coo Cal's "Disturbed" is simply one of the finest rap albums out there. The album showcases phat tracks back to back. "The Projects" is indeed 2002's summer anthem. Git on it fellaz, you wont be disappointed." Mil-Town Flavor madcityloo | Madison, WI | 09/24/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "I definitely have to give it up for Coo who dropped this awesome CD and im definitely gonna have to say that its worth buying. Everybody who is considering buying this CD has obviously heard the song "My Projects" which is hot but there are many songs that are better than that or just as good on this CD. I have only had this CD for two days and I am absolutely obsessed with the song "How does it feel to ya" which is featuring Koffee Brown and Midwikid. The beat is killin it and Coo definitly delivers in his verses. I also am feeling "Dedication" ft. Mr Do It To Death who is an awesome MC that I never heard of before this but I think he really has potential, too. He reminds me of Fabolous's flow I probably like this song more than most people though because he dedicates this to various places in Milwaukee and Wisconsin and I am from Madison so thats pretty cool. There is also the "My Projects remix" that has verses from Coo, Trick Daddy and Kurupt. Most of the others songs are good on this CD too except for Freak Nasty which is such a bad song I had to take this CD down from 5 stars. You gotta cop this"
