BRILLIANT CONNIE FRANCIS

"This was the first and longest CD of her overdubbed US hits in Japanese. Many are in mono and a surprise stereo version of ROUNDABOUT, the first recording I know of in this format. Her version of Danke Shoen (one of many versions she recorded) really tops this fine collection from our Japanese neighbors who still regard her as their #1 female artist. Not avilable on this collection are songs she did in Italian that made the charts in Japan. This proves they love Connie in any language. Another rare stereo entry is "Love is You, Love Is Me" and as one Japanese person quoted when he/she first heart "Atashi No" ("Where The Boys Are") thought she was a native of Japan. This shows her versatility and skill in singing in more languages than any pop singer in music. She is still the biggest selling female singer of all time. Here is very good example why? It's out of print and there is a shorter second compiliation that might be easier to obtain, but both have different song selections and should be added to any serious collector's library. Many won't understand it, but the fans will certainly recognize the tunes. A superior 1990 release, woefully difficult to obtain."
