Modern Liturgical Music, A rare bird

"'The Sacred Music for Unaccompanied Choir' by Francis Poulenc is headlined by a rare contemporary 'Mass in G' which, in Latin, sounds old and new at the same time. As a devotee of liturgical music in general, I just stumbled over this in my roaming through bins of sacred music and I'm constantly delighted to have found it. Not least among its virtues is its offering a prototype of performances to ambitious church choirs which may not be up to either selections from 'Early Music' polyphony or Bach's baroque masterpieces.
If you ever run across this recording for a reasonable price, get it. If you happen to be a rabid Poulenc fan, just about any price is reasonable for this rare bird."
