"Colum Sands, one of the musical Sands Family from County Down, Ireland, has put together a lovely, sensitive, and at times humorous, set of songs. Sands is an insightful observer of life, and while his songs are based in Ireland and on Irish subjects, they have a universal appeal, especially the haunting "Last House on Our Street" and the humorous "Looking the Loan of a Spade," though you have to pay attention to this one to get the joke. Sands is an extraordinary songmaker whose instrumental textures and melody lines don't override his words, which are at the heart of the songs. He is also a fine guitarist and has a clear, sweet tenor voice that is a joy to the ear. This is a must for those who enjoys the music of Ireland and of the Northern Irish struggle, and a good listen for anyone who appreciates a good song sung by a sensitive and accomplished singer."
