"THIS WAS PREVIOUSLY RELEASED AS TWO SEPARATE CD'S.

This is from a 1994 reunion concert in Cologne, featuring the most famous line up of Colosseum. It was originally released as two seperate CD's. The first CD, was called "Lives: Reunion Concerts 1994". It contained two songs taken from a different concert (Those About to Die and Stormy Monday Blues). The second CD was called "Live Cologne 1994". It had a different song selection but contained Those About to Die and Stormy Monday Blues from the Cologne concert.

The whole concert was also released on a very good DVD.

Anyway, it is great to see the whole Cologne concert on a double CD package like this. The total time is around 110 minutes and the sound quality is excellent.

This is just a very good and energetic concert. It does not sound like a reunion concert, but like the group has been playing together for years. Unlike many reunions, the group puts everything into these songs and there are no short cuts. About the only complaint I would have is that some of the songs sound too close the live versions the group did back in the seventies.

Colosseum was a progressive rock band with a heavy blues orientation, with some jazz and heavy rock thrown in. They played nice long, interesting tunes. Their concerts would be high energy, intense and exhausting. The group had many members come and go. They finally broke up and the drummer carried on with a jazz band called Colosseum II."
