The Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts has, as part of their curriculum, a jazz recording camp which teaches young musicians about the business of music. They spend most of their classes honing their musical skills but this is where they learn about making a living playing jazz. Each of the students, mostly teenagers, writes a composition and records each composition to establish their own publishing company. There are 14 original compositions on this release composed by the students who are split into two groups. The groups sound like seasoned veterans and this year are named for their teachers, trumpeter Greg Gisbert and pianist Eric Gunnison.
