A very catchy "pop/dance" album, if you like your woman as a

"I must admit my first exposure to Colette (A.K.A DJ Colette) was this album, "Push". I caught the video for "If" on T.V. and I thought it was pretty catchy tune. I decided to take a chance and buy the album. I was pleasantly surprised. Colette has a very nice voice and I can see why there are some parallels between her and Kylie Minogue. However Colette has her own style when it comes to being a "soprano", so to speak.
The music has a dance/pop/techno thing going on, which is a good thing. If a person is looking for hardcore techno or an acid loop death industrial movement look elsewhere. One can tell just by looking at the album sleeve that the material will be rather jubilant. As a matter of fact, some of the songs remind me of my days at Ybor City (the night clubs and bars) in Tampa, FL during 1998-2002.
There are thirteen songs on this album and out of the thirteen I really like nine of the tracks. Which I think really isn't that bad. There are two remixes on this album "About Us" which sounds like a New Order song, and "Think You Want It" which is almost a mellow tune, almost. As for the the multiple remixes of "If", some are good some are not. It is a matter of taste. Since buying "Push" I have purchased just many other (DJ) Colette's CDs by (DJ) Colette's Such as Hypnotized , House of Om , In the Sun and Our Day.
I will admit some dance music is insipid or very redundant, but I feel the combination of Colette's vocals and the "out of the box" dance tunes she uses it is a winner. This past August, I went to see (DJ) Colette perform (spin) at The Blue Room in Jacksonville, FL. Colette was an amazing performer (and also very pretty). Her vocals were even more angelic in person, she mixed with such grace and was still able to dance and recognize the audience. Once her set was done, I walked up to her and told her "Great job" and shook her hand. She expressed her thanks and smiled. I find Colette's music and persona to be a class act."
