CD ReviewsChisel at their bestest Michael J Harrington | Phoenix, Arizona USA | 04/10/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "This band is still fresh, focused and had the best grip I have EVER heard on great pop-pub rock in the WORLD. I was fortunate enough to have lived in Sydney in the 1990's, and would have never heard of this great band otherwise (even though it was way past their break up). What AMAZED me is that CHISEL might as well be a Beatles or Doors, just by the fact that how popular they are with the radio and fans TODAY. Anyhow, this CD really captures them at their radio-best, and will have you singing along in no time. The one to get for a more complete collection can be found on www.whammo.com.au, which is a double CD set that really covers them better than this 'hits' CD. In Aussie, this CD would be called 'Gold Chisel' - which is what got me hooked on to these rock heros in the first place!!!!For those who have not heard the sounds of Chisel - Jimmy Barnes with a 1 quart of vodka rock scream and Ian Moss with a rock-pop sensibility that most would die for - well, you are just missing out on one of the greatest rock bands EVER. Mind you, I am relatively new to CC, but I fell in love almost too quickly. Yep, they have their rough and bland ends here and there that sound just a bit too 70-80's, but when it comes to crafting a GREAT party rocker or ballad, CC is IT. Bottom line is that these guys just really deserve a listen, as I cannot say they 'sound like' so-and-so. What I can say is that the sounds they make are ones that most folk in the US would probably really like....a lot. I am proud to be one of the few 'yanks' giving this music a major thumbs up...moved 'back' in 1998, but miss the great land that is Australia." Chisel Forever Paul James Smith | UN Base in Africa | 08/19/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "In a thousand years from now when ET and his mates finally arrive on planet earth it will be to pick up a copy of a Cold Chisel CD. Cold Chisel are world famous in Australia and New Zealand. This is a true Rock band from the 70s, 80s and the music is timeless, it just gets better an better and manages to stand out from all the nameless trash from todays electronic, techno bands. Do yourself a favour and get some Chisel, you will never regret it."
