All of his exquisite recordings as accompanist to Sarah Vaughan, Helen Merrill and Dinah Washington are included on this superlative collection. While the Sarah Vaughan and the Helen Merrill albums are standard studio sessions, the Dinah Washington date was recorded in the studio before a live audience in an attempt to recreate the spirit of a jam session.
