CD Reviews

Masterful!

"Cliff Eberhardt is one of the most masterful guitar players we've ever had the pleasure of listening to. He gets sounds out of a guitar most players haven't even thought of. If you love guitar or the sound of a resonator, you will love this album and anything else by Cliff. One of the most talented songwriters and singers of our time, this album is generally folk, but includes a little blues. Although most of Cliff's songs are about love gone wrong, you will find a refreshing humor in his lyrics as in Memories of You. Love Slips Away and Blessings are two beautiful, thought provoking songs that remind us in this world of uncertainty, what really matters is our love for each other and how we should treasure those relationships. In the songs School for Love and Where Did You go to School, Cliff puts a new twist on the love gone wrong theme. Sugartown is where we all dream to be at times and it just leaves you happy....thinking, oh, yeah, someday............
Cliff has been at the top of his game for years, just wish the radio stations would do their jobs and play people like Cliff, they would be surprised at the ratings they would receive! If he is in your area, DON'T MISS his live performance, it is truly a treat for the soul! Cliff is an amazing live perfomer, his quick wit, great voice and absolutely amazing guitar performance will leave you fulfilled. If you are new to Cliff, we highly reccomend any of his albums! You won't be dissapointed."

"Nearly three years since Borders, Cliff's last CD, School for Love will supply the fix that any Cliff fan needs after all this time. As always Cliff continues to grow as an artist as he continues to write intelligent songs that cross a multitude of musical boundaries. The Cd consists of Folk, blues, traditional, and songs that could win over new fans on commercial radio if they ever had the smarts to play him. Like much of his work, Cliff's best material is usually about relationships gone awry, and not to surprisingly, School for Love includes an ample supply of songs that fall into that arena. The CD also includes upbeat tunes like Sugartown and Whenever I Sing the Blues, but ballads like Blessings, Love Slips Away and My Sweet Liza will please hard-core Cliff fans and help win over new ones. The title song and Where Did You Go to School are songs that address the difficulty we have when dealing with relationships and the sad fact that what we learn about love doesn't come from a classroom, but usually comes from personal trial and error. Many artists run out of creative steam after a half dozen CD's, but Cliff isn't one of them. A unique and talented artist that always puts on a first rate live show, has again delivered a first rate studio CD. If you're a long time fan, order it now and if you're new to Cliff's music, you should start here and work backward."
Another Great CD!
