Live performance without the usual irritants!

"FULL DISCLOSURE: not only was I present at this live performance, I was one of the performers. Mardirosian played the Bach, and in between each piece, I chanted the original German chorale tune for the next piece. Only the organ playing is featured on this album.

Mardirosian's skillful playing has the excitement of a live peformance, without mistakes (not that he makes any - Hi Haig!), traffic noise, or audience sounds. For a complete understanding of how this was accomplished, see the liner notes.

A word about the recording: I sang at Ascension & St. Agnes for over 9 years. This recording, thanks to the skill of the recording engineer and the sound advice of the organist, is very faithful to the sound of the original, capturing both the personality of the organ and the acoustic of the church, a 19-century neo-gothic structure with lots of wood, tile, & plaster."
