Marvelous magical stuff

"A great album of Jobim songs-- from the very familiar, like "Desafinado," to ones at least obscure to me: "Ana Luiza" or "Fotografia" (& some others) and done mainly in classic bossa nova/trad. style. There are a few additions of more contemporary pop, and the drum machine element in last few tracks bugs me just a bit-- but nothing heavy handed or trying to be trendy. And doesn't take away from Telles's terrific vocals & generally fine playing. On this one, she seems at ease, very elegant and lyrical, close in a way to her great mother, Sylvia Telles. One of her best albums-- and they are all great IMO."
