I bought this album exclusively for the recording of Schuman's "Chester"; a piece that I have played MANY times in various concert bands, but is virtually NEVER recorded (The orchestral version, which is part of the "New England Tryptic", is shorter and not as well developed). I was not dissapointed! But I was as or more amazed at the remaining pieces (none of which I had ever heard before). This is high-end symphonic wind ensemble writing - and playing - at it's best. The music is a tour de force for the El Paso Wind Symphony - and they do a superb job with it. a MUST for anyone who enjoys symphonic wind ensemble music!!!"
