CD ReviewsVery nice compilation! Traveller | Chicagoland, Lima, and the World | 12/23/2009 (5 out of 5 stars) "It's a nice little disc for the kiddies. The selections are appropriate. I remember a similar first time classical LP with Nutcracker on one side and Mozartiana on the other. It was like an innoculation of classical music.
In the same way, this is really nice. But what I didn't expect was that the Peter and the Wolf was without a narrator, letting the music speak for itself, and with a script of the narration from somewhere else, a perfect classical Karaoke disc older ones can read to the little ones. Sure, it might take some practice, but I will try to use that this season. The Tchaikovsky is great and the Leo Mozart even better, but who did the performances? Kids don't care so much about these things, but big people do. I think I would have liked to know more about the performers, the performance date and provenance like that. Otherwise, this is really neat!" |
