"Just an all around good rockabilly set. Plenty of classics and some modern tunes as well. You cant go wrong with this selection in my opinion."

"THIS SET HAS A FEW GEMS THAT I'D NEVER HEARD AND ACROSS THE BOARD IS A PRETTY GOOD COMPILATION. HOWEVER, I AM SICK AND TIRED OF GENIUSES WHO PUT ARTISTS IN THESE SETS WHO WOULD'NT KNOW ROCKABILLY IF IT JACKED THEM UPSIDE THE HEAD.I LIKE OLD COUNTRY, BUT WHEN I'M IN THE MOOD FOR OLD ROCKABILLY, I WANT TO HEAR SOME EARLY GENE VINCENT WITH CLIFF GALLUP,ELVIS WITH SCOTTY MOORE, CARL PERKINS,JOHNNY BURNETTE,AND ANY GREASER FROM THAT ERA WITH A SLAPPIN' BASS, A GREAT GUITAR RIFF, A STEADY RYTHM GUITAR, AND COARSE VOCALS RECORDED WITH THAT HAUNTING DELAY/ECHO EFFECT. THIS SET OFFERS THAT SOMEWHAT AND SETS LIKE THIS GIVES ME A CHANCE TO HEAR SOME GREAT UNKNOWN ARTISTS,BUT I FOUND MYSELF HITTING THE SKIP BUTTON TOO MUCH.UNTIL I DECIDE TO BUY A HISTORY OF COUNTRY MUSIC, KEEP THE FIDDLIN' COUNTRY OUT OF MY GREASE AND LEATHER ROCKABILLY!!"
Well worth it

"Classic Rockabilly is a wide ranging overview of the genre. If you are looking for a yet another compilation of Elvis, Eddie and Vince's greatest hits, look elsewhere. They are certainly represented here but this album presents works from the the greats, the near greats and the not so greats and the downright grating.
It is a truely amazing compendium and covers the entire spectrum from rock to (hill)billy. This is a must have CD for the true afficianado or the student of classic rock. Dilettantes are advised to check out Greatest Hits albums of the more famous exponents of Rockabilly. If, on the other hand, you are not afraid to get your hands dirty digging deep into the fertile soil of roots rock, this is the compilation for you."
