Synopsis

Product Description
Just who (or what) is Clark Plays Guitar? Well, here's the essence of the story: Progressive hard rock with a nucleus of melodic metal, the Clark Plays Guitar CD has received critical acclaim from as far away as Australia, Europe, & China, in addition to spawning a Number One Internet Radio hit, "Stainless (with a Touch of Cosmic Power)." Guitarist Clark Colborn spent years ripping through the Midwest club and outdoor festival scene with hard rock bands such as Cheater, Rogue, and Sleight of Hand. Audiences roared their approval, sometimes numbering nearly 10,000 strong for a single show. Often compared to artists such as Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhodes, and Steve Vai, he felt the need to continue as a solo artist, choosing the name Clark Plays Guitar for both his band and his debut CD release. (For the full story on why that name, check the official Clark Plays Guitar website!) Combining musical taste with technical brilliance, the music on this CD appeals to guitarist and non-musicians alike. So spread the word: Clark Plays Guitar.

(5 out of 5 stars)

""Clark Plays Guitar" is a great album. Not merely a few good songs, but an entire CD-length composition that's coherent and without a single bad track. If you're into instrumental rock, you'll really enjoy this.

What surprised me most is how much variety there is here. Colborn gives you some heavy metal with songs like "Return to Oblivion" and "Stainless." But he also experiments -- and, in doing so, makes this album truly exciting to listen to -- with the unique and almost dreamlike sounds of "Unconditional" and "Ethereal Dancer." Those two songs alone make "Clark Plays Guitar" worth its price.

I found this album by pure luck while playing around with the Pandora music recommendation service one day. I'm really glad I did."
