"a great disc by Gate who does not like to be labled Blues. He proves again that he can make it all sound good. There are many styles on this disc,as Clarence is known for (including blues). Any one expecting just strait blues should do some home work on Clarence Brown before their purchas. all in all a strong disc with a few surprises."

"Gatemouth delivers another fine CD. His band is excellent with Dan Matrazzo a standout. Perhaps Gatemouth's final gift while still alive, his "Unchained Melody" is superb. His take on "Satin Doll" shows the range of the man. It is too bad that the reviewer from Texas had no idea of the type of music Gatemouth plays; her loss. I'm sure fans of SRV are more than aware of Clarence Brown's music. The swansong of a gifted American treasure. Thanks for the music."
Very Nice.

"This is another excellent CD by Brown. Some of the tracks are blues, others are merely "blusey," and some are outright jazz. And all are very good and enjoyable. The music itself could warrant 5 stars; but overall I give the CD "only" 4 stars (still a very high recommendation) because the sound-quality of the recording/engineering, though very high, is not the VERY best (by audiophile standards); and also because Brown's voice ain't what it used to be. A fun, enjoyable CD indeed."
