CD ReviewsBuy this cd! J. Anderson | CA | 02/13/2010 (4 out of 5 stars) "For being a "side project", this is a great album! I think I actually like it better than the new Fear Factory album. The songs on City of Fire aren't anything like Fear Factory, they are more traditional hard rock mixed with some ethereal acoustic material. Even Burton's vocals are different than what he's traditionally done in FF - this is definitely his most diverse vocal performance. So far my favorites are "Gravity", "Rising", and "Rain". I'm only giving it a 4 because: 1) Byron's bass is lost in the mix, which is focused more on guitar and vocals, 2) A little too much wah on the guitars, 3) "Emerald" is a 2-minute acoustic instrumental, kind of filler material. Overall this is a really good album that will most likely (unfortunately) go unnoticed."
