"There are places you can get the set for $24. If BarGrooves and jazz mix is your bag, City Lounge will fill the void. However, if you are looking for dance tunes, rhythm, beats that will get people up on the floor, this isn't it. I suppose the music would work best as background music (think KMart in a Bar Environment) while people are flirting with each other, concentrating on each others fleshy parts and sizes, and tanking Bombay and tequila.
Using it to pass time while stuck in traffic, or as a musical upper while on the way to work, isn't quite the goal of this sound. Be happy you bought the set of 4 rather than each one individually, as some tracks are better than others, and some CDs better than others, and maybe may make the $24 seem a justified purchase (vs. $74 or so).
Could be sexy enough music, but only if you are lying next to the other already naked and too lazy to get up and change the cd to something else..."
It's a solid collection for lovers of the genre...

"Nowadays when I venture out to buy an actual CD, it's usually a box compilation of some sort. iTunes has become a godsend; but I still get excited at discovering a promising CD on the rack and just taking a chance on what's there. For me it's part of the great experience of being a music lover.
If you get into the more relaxed side of club music and electronica--nujazz, downtempo, whatever--this collection will grow on you, one track at a time. In typical 'box set' fashion, don't expect to love everthing here; but there are enough tight little grooves to make it worth the purchase."
Was on my wish list, bought it in a Virgin Megastore

"It's great music with great artists. Notable tracks that I didn't have on CD yet were 'cafe de flore by dr. rockit', 'all that you give by the cinematic orchestra'
And notable artists: chet baker, st germain, i:cube, stephane pompougnac, chateau flight (notable song not on this cd is "camping jazz" of which I know the name), gotan project, the herbaliser, slow train, mr scruff, mark rae (from Rae & Christian), Aim, jazzanova, de-phazz, beanfield, infracom, truby trio, marschmellows, boozoo bajou, mo horizons, alphawezen, thievery corporation.
These are the names that I know best, and to see that many on one compilation is a blessing.

Interesting mix of music

"I bought this after hearing some of the songs playing in a restaurant and asking what they where playing. Decided to take a chance with it and was not disappointed. In general, the songs are interesting, some even fun. The mix includes a number of styles and doesn't get bogged down by one type. There is a song or two that I skip over when it comes up, but in general I can let each of the discs play and like most of what I hear.
However, don't bother getting the second volume, it's no good."
