"20 years ago it seemed like I would frequently score an album which merited playing over and over and over again. AC/DC, Metallica, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, B-52s, Roth-era Van Halen, Judas Priest....you get the idea. In recent years I only occasionally find something which merits sustained interest, like Kyuss, Monster Magnet, and a few others.
I've determined the better strategy toward muscial satisfaction is to go back and mine the vintage classics which originally escaped my attention. Fortunately, I'm finding some good stuff. Diamond Head, Tank, Wicked Lady, The Nomads...these bands have all offered fulfillment in my mid-life spiritual quest.
And now I discover Chrome. This is simply brilliant music. It is cacophonic to some extent, which may be off-putting to some listeners, but the solid beats and the cutting riffs pull it all together for me. And the strange vocals, twisted and obtuse, are solid rock masterpieces. Every "song" (if you care to call them that) here is a deranged journey, and collectively they make for one diverse and wild ride. I'm going to have explore this band further. I've played this thing perhaps fifty times now, and I'm still not motivated to pull it out of the player and move on. Just like the old days."
Pavement sucks, Chrome rocks

"Yes, Chrome are amazing and this collection is an excellent introduction to the band. Helios is still around and creative as ever, Damon Edge rest in peace."
"A superb eighteen track compilation from the folks at the Cleopatra label that I've just recently discovered. Look at the asking price here, for a used copy. Well worth it. Long-time Chrome fans may not get THAT wild about this release, however the more casual / newer fan(s) will most likely get a lot from this collection. Several of the 'deep album cuts' here that I don't remember RIGHT off hand are "Anti-Fade","Abstract Nympho",the catchy "Meet You In The Subway" and "Electric Chair".Give this one a chance. An absolute should-have."
ESSENTIAL

"considering the scarceness of some of the selections on this anthology,I would say this is essential both to the uninitiated and the casual fan - obviously the dedicated wont find anything here to entice, but everyone else should strongly consider picking this up!"
