Synopsis
Album Description This debut CD for Dickie Christopher and Chip Sharratt is a collection of original soft-rock, and rock compositions relating to a broad spectrum of issues including human emotions, current events, and life challenges. Bringing back a touch of early 70's music, various tracks challenge authority, question love, and demand accountability. Human fascination with war is revisited in "The Victors"; Suburban sprawl is examined in "Promise Land"; and the quest for true and lasting love is tested in "Still I Hold On", "Addiction", "The "Bye" Song", "I'll Never Let Go", and "Restless". Even the natural tendency to personally identify with tragic and shocking human events is explored in "Misery". Production of the tracks is superb with Dickie Christopher and Kenny Wilson's driving lead guitar licks, and James Walsh's keen interpretation of emotion through his exquisite keyboard work. Truly a CD that will grab you and not let go! |
CD ReviewsI hope they do another album. This one is a keeper 11/05/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "There is something really nice about tracks that are in some cases very different but you can sense how the musical maturity of the group brings a solid foundation to every song. I especially enjoy the upbeat "promised land" for I can truly build an image in my mind of the song. The "Victors" is a pragmatic yet haunting look at what society forgets when we think of conflicts in the world today. An absolute masterpiece of lyrics and song writing. Overall, this album shows how talented these guys are. I am happy that it was produced in a matter of fact way and does not go for the slick polished approach of "hot" groups today. The music is very real, relevant and the quality of the contents and production make it something that everyone can relate and enjoy. For 9.99 you just got to add it to your musical cart. I've paid alot more for cd's that could only hope to be half as good as this one."
