Artistic Director Sjögren and a small group of professional singers who shared his dream of performing the world's finest choral music formed the Pro Arte Singers in 1973. Each year since, they have grown in artistic achievement and critical acclaim through their annual concert series, professional recordings, appearances in classical concert series, and their commissions of new works by rising American composers. Today they continue to be distinguished as the only fully professional chorus in the Fairfield (CT)/ Westchester (NY) area. Their Christmas CD includes "There is no Rose", "Once in Royal David's City", Australian carols and other songs for the season, both familiar and unusual.
