"Recorded in the Summer of 1985, 'Past Present and Forever' repackages the excellent 'Wind Kissed Pictures' EP, with the addition of unreleased tracks from the same period and the 'Lacrima Christi' flexi-disc. The CD opens with the pummeling 'Believers of the Unpure' - a mystical profusion of goth-rock aethetics and new-wave power which helped define a genre. 'The Wind Kissed Pictures' itself draws the listener into a surreal, medieval world whilst 'The Lake of Fire' is an frequently forgotten pearl of inventive experimentation. Other pieces are close to today's amibient genre, as well as recalling the early work of Current '93'. Way ahead of its time - but not an easy listen. Although 'Past, Present and Forever' may lack the finesse and diversity of later Christian Death releases, its wonderful atmospheres and constrasting energy more than make up for this."
