Album DescriptionOriginal and traditional jazz and blues that swings. For over 25 years Chris Whiteley has been performing, writing, and recording roots music as a multi-instrumentalist and as a vocalist. On "Second Look", Chris, on trumpet, harmonica, and vocals, and his son Dan Whiteley take a tasteful swing through some wonderful blues and jazz tunes. Eight Chris Whiteley originals, including "When Push Comes to Love," "Change Your Point of View," and "Second Look," hold their own next to standards like "Mean to Me," "Cherry Red," and "A Smooth One." For variety, Chris makes a side trip into gospel with "The Light Descends From Heaven," and concludes with a moody original instrumental, "Total Eclipse." Chris is joined by a talented group of Toronto musicians, including Maureen Brown, Bucky Berger, Terry Wilkins, Victor Bateman, Allan Scott, John Sheard, Paul Hendon, Bryan Livett, and Ken Whiteley.
