Very redeeming indeed

"The multi-talented "CVS" comes through with another album of songs the Beatles and other 60's and 70's acts could have recorded, led by the excellent "I'm Like You", just chock full of bubbling Lennon/McCartney hooks and harmonies. I don't like everything, up-tempo stuff like "If You Run" and "Lonely" don't work for him nearly as well as ballads like "On the Ground" where his strong voice can carry the song.
What's amazing is how music like this languishes at the margins, CVS playing venues like McCabe's Guitar Shop, while pure junk and retro grandads rule the airwaves and arenas. Oh well, let someone else worry about that, pop this in the dashboard and drive."
