"I first learned about Chris Pureka when she played at a local club. The opening act was a competent folk singer with some promise, the kind of act you'd expect to see in a good nightclub with a $10 cover.
Then Chris Pureka came out, looking like a stiff breeze might knock her over. But as she started into her first song, her guitar and her haunting voice penetrated the farthest corners of the room. I knew we were in the presence of a true talent.
I've long been a fan of the so-called grass-roots acoustic movement that spawned performers like Shawn Colvin, Patti Larkin, Christine Lavin, John Gorka and David Wilcox. If Chris Pureka represents the next generation of acoustic artists, then I think this corner of the folk world has a bright future."
Stunningly Good !!!

"Heard the 4th track from Paste Magazine#28 and just knew I wanted to hear more.....so, I downloaded this CD off of iTunes because I couldn't wait. As to the quality of the songs on this cd...I'd compare them to the best of Lucinda Williams. Chris's voice is incredible. You won't be sorry giving this one a listen."
Amazing, Incredible!

"I was so impressed wtih Pureka's first album that I could not have imagined that any CD would ever be as good as Driving North. But Dryland is just as good, if not better. Her lyrics are beautiful and musically, it is magnificent. I gaurantee, that you will not be able to take this CD out of the CD player!"
Album Rocks
