Proctor the Storyteller

"I saw Chris Proctor perform several years ago at Whittier College, where he performed several pieces from this CD and other recordings. His ability to write, then play such beautiful melodies while simultaneously keeping a percussive rhythmic element on his instrument, have been an inspiration since then. The CD is extremely consistent, with no bad spots and several highlights, including "From L.A. to Zaire", "Serpentine", and a medley of covers, "California Dreaming"/"Paint It Black". Whether you're a guitar player or not, I recommend this CD to all music lovers, particularly those who can appreciate melodic fingerstyle acoustic guitar."

"I've owned this CD for about 3 years, and keep coming back to it. Not as eclectic as Michael Hedges, but every bit as beautiful. You can put it on in the background and it will never intrude, but when you really want to pay attention, it will reward you with some heavenly music. Always subtle in its beauty...the more you listen to it the more you'll love it."
