Such A Gifted Artist!

"Where do I begin? First off, Mr. Chris Jasper is in my opinion one of the most underrated and underappreciated artists of our time. We should all know better. We R&B fans are very familiar with his previous works with the legendary Isley Brothers. He was such a major force in their musical sound and song writing. I dare to say that without him, the Isley Brothers may not have produced as many hits as they did throughout the 70's & 80's. Jusy my opinion. But that was before. I want to focus on his present day modern solo material. After listening to his various cd's, (R&B and Gospel)I don't think that it is possible for Mr. Jasper to produce a bad record, cd or whatever. He is just too gifted. The "Faithful & True" cd is just amazing. From start to finish I was very impressed with this production. And he is such a great vocalist as well. Lead and background. We sometimes forget about that. I am not necessarily a religious man although I strongly believe in God. But this cd reminds me of why I should be thankful to God and all of his blessings he has put upon me and my family. This release makes you feel good and positive about life and spitituality. It is a gospel release but it also gets funky while spreading the word in the traditional Chris Jasper style that we have all come to love. The songwriting is beautiful and profound and the music is well produced. The ballad type songs are touching and the faster paced songs are groovy and once again "FUNKY"! Some people may criticize the fact that all of the music is self produced by Mr. Jasper and contain lots of drum programming and keyboard work. But that shouldn't matter. Good music is good music. If the man was playing a tin can with a string attached to it and it sounded good we should appreciate it. I know I may be rambling on about this release but I can't find enough words to describe it. I just recently purchased this cd along with "Invincible" and "Amazing Love" and I can't stop listening to these cd's back to back to back. They are strongly in my rotation in the car and at home. The tunes are so catchy and good musically that sometimes I forget that they are gospel records and crank up the volume and start to bob my head and bust a move or two! (lol) But seriously, these are must haves if you are into gospel or just love good music. You can apply this review to any of Mr. Jasper's gospel cd releases. And don't even get me started on Mr. Jasper's previous R&B releases. Amazon won't allow me enough space to write reviews about those!"

"You may be familiar with Chris Jasper. He was formerly a member of the Isley Brothers and Isley/Jasper/Isley, and was the primary songwriter and keyboardist for those groups through the 70's and 80's, earned numerous gold and platinum records and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. After the Isleys disbanded, Chris formed his own independent record label, Gold City Records, and produced his own solo recordings as well as other label artists. After experiencing a spiritual transformation, Chris turned his musical efforts to serving God. Known for producing and recording beautiful ballads, Chris recently released "Faithful & True" -- a compilation of songs which we like to refer to as "love songs for Jesus." We believe this project was truly inspired (several of the songs came to Chris in dreams). The music has the same R&B flavor as his previous works, but the words are positive messages which we would so much like to spread to the young audience that has been inundated with negative influences, images and messages.
