Trying to organize the chaos that is chris

"... i'm simply writing to expand upon what is included in this particular collection. if any of you out there have tried, as i have, to find most of Connelly's work, you'll agree, compilations like this are a godsend. Initials CC nicely combines a lot of odd b-sides and such with unreleased material (of note; the hard to find Fini Tribe tracks), but mistakenly, it also includes album cuts that any Connelly fan willing to buy this disc will prbably already have. That's not a complaint really, since it's all great material, it's just there is still so much out there that should have made the cut.
From Fini Tribe we have the original Detestimony (nothing like Shipwreck's Superior counterpart), All fours, Paperself, me and my shadow and the Niddrie street tape loop project. Aside from All Fours, i had never heard these. Strangely, there is one Pigface (out of many) to appear here which doesn't really help relieve me of all those extra CD's.
Nice little nuggets include Chris's renditions of the Stones' 2000 light years and Wire's a Mutual friend (no Desperado, Hard Hearted Alice or Don't Make Me Go unfortunatly). A few acoustic versions, B-sdes and Demos make for nice surprises- of particular note: Damage Manual - Ignore the Noise and Revco B-side At the Top. Strange ommissions include Acid Horse, Ministry, KMFDM, the amazing Final Cut songs featuring Chris, and the biggest missing gems, Connelly's own Trash and Remixes. I rated it three stars simply bacause A) you are required to rate it, and B) because however much i like the collection, the inclusion of Album Versions really diminishes the true potential that a Rareties Disc aims to achieve. Here's hoping that Volume Two will give us a little more variety (live covers, etc.) and a lot more information- like maybe a COMPLETE discography (a small novel, no doubt). Until then, I'm stuck buying Import Wire Tributes for one song:("
