"I have been familiar with Chris Clark's blue eyed-soul album `Soul Sounds' for over 40 years! After all that time it still sounds fresh and now it's available again in all its re-mastered splendour
`Soul Sounds' was never a commercial success but over time it has become a firm favourite in Motown & northern soul circles and it's now been recognised for the classic that it is. This release has a lovely 20 page booklet filled with fascinating stories about Chris's life and the making of the album penned by renowned music writer A. Scott Galloway plus lots of beautiful photographs. The music is of course timeless and to my ears the album was packed full of hits like 'I Want To Go Back There Again', 'Love's Gone Bad', `From Head To Toe', 'If You Should Walk Away', 'Do Right Baby Do Right' & 'Sweeter As The Days Go By'. Surprisingly neither the album nor any of the singles made any real impact and after one further album she moved onto other ventures. This release includes the alternate stereo mix of `Do Right Baby Do Right' as a bonus track.
Chris Clark should have been a huge star as she had huge talent. Now thanks to Paul Williams and Reel Music this is your chance to hear what you have been missing out on. Please put this CD in your record collection. You won't regret it.

"Always saw this LP cover on the inner dust sleeves of classic Motown vynal. Captivated by the Dolly Parton wig and the Florence Ballard of the Supremes curves I just had to give Ms. Clark a try. Enter used record bins in Buffalo, NY. Shazzam! Genious recordings on a scratchy 12" L.P. So grateful this LP is out on CD! Listen and you will hear her unique phrasing, wit and soul. Her voice is a combination of Dusty Springfeild and Mary Wilson of the Supremes. Her single "I Want to Go Back There Again" is breathtaking. Glad that C.C. rides again in the digital age!"

"Stumbled on the music of Chris Clark via internet radio; really on the basis of one song "Love's Gone Bad." After getting this album all I can say is, wow! It is a shame that she didn't go farther, despite the Motown machine behind her. Nearly all songs are wonderfully infectious - a rarity in any album. The included booklet is well produced and detailed, presenting her story as a young singer finding her way. Despite the lack of commercial success as a singer she has done very well in other related endeavors.
If you enjoy music of the 60's and the Motown sound this CD would be a great addition to one's collection and would stand proudly next to other period great artists."
