Regarding that Trio . . .

"Though because of close association I can not be objective in reviewing this recording, I can assure you that the Trio herein is not for piano, violin, and cello, but for the at least equally engaging combination of piano, violin, and clarinet--an increasingly appreciated and explored instrumentation. I know quite for certain that this is true since I am the clarinetist in the recording . . . In any event, Peter Child is a fascinating composer, and the Trio is a wonderful addition to the pno/vln/cl repertoire for which more and more of us will be grateful as it becomes more broadly known."
