"Chiharu Matsuyama is a representative famous singer that got great popularity in early 80' mainly. Same as some other singers, he has changed his music taste till now. If I select his best career age as a singer, I want to select early 80' because he showed the most beautiful melodies in his songs in the age. He used acoustic guitars as musical instruments mainly in the age. The tender and natural sounds that flow on their pure instruments will give healing melodies to us. At the same time, his songs in the age will show true unique Japanese melodies to us. In the mean, if you want to know the charms of Japan, especially on the aspects of music flavor, the most suitable artists may be him.



Why will he have such charms? It is with difficulty that even Japanese like me explain about such things concretely. That may be for our sounds feeling by unconscious level, however that is obvious that his sounds are with unique Japanese melodies.



I may be able to get the answer in his birth place, that is, though foreigners may think Japan of just a small islands country, Japan have many region characters like the main island (Hond), Kyuusyuu, Shikoku and Hokkaidou. And each island have unique atmosphere. If I say about his birthplace, will say about Hokkaidou. Many Japanese have the admiration for Hokkaidou because Hokkaidou exist in magnificent environment with pure air, river and so on where big city like Tokyo have no.



Chiaru Matsuyama could make such tender and beautiful melodies that he spent his teenage that could absorb the most important elements there.
