UK pressing of this 2007 album from the New Zealand band featues bonus tracks. These five youngsters (yes, they're still teenagers) from New Zealand have obviously undergone an intense Classic Rock education and paid close attention to modern stars as well. The Checks set tongues a wagging with their brand of high energy Rock 'N' Roll that has elicited raves from their elder peers, like Noel Gallagher and Michael Stipe, who both made sure the band had a slot as an opener on tours of both Australia and the UK. Their sound? Think of every great Classic Rock band from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin to The Stones to AC/DC and everyone else in between with gut vocals, snarling guitars peppered with great solo fretwork and a look that at times can recall every one of their predecessors.
