"H-mm, a little scared to be first reviewer.
I just don't understand why people do not know this album.
Chava Albertstein is a world-class singer. You don't have to be Jewish or understand Hebrew to listen her songs. You just feel them. The album is wonderful, and I like every track of it."
Great voice!

"This singer's voice is beautiful. I am always on the lookout for Israeli music, but Chava Alberstein is the first singer whom I truly loved. Other imported stuff is either too "easy lisening-ish" or folksy. If you love Annie Lennox, Patricia Kaas, Dani Klein of "Vaya Con Dios", and especially Daliah Lavi (whose albums are available in German, but I've heard her records in English), you would love Chava's sound. She has this great deep, low, "bluesy" voice that is intimate as it is beautiful."
Yiddish vs. Hebrew

"I very much enjoy Chava Alberstein's traditional Yiddish music, but her Hebrew popular music does less for me. This is an album entirely of the latter. She has a wonderful voice and gives great color to her songs, but you have to be into the Hebrew side of her music to fully appreciate it."
