"This is one of my favorites, too. When I bought it, I had no idea who Charlie Watts was, not being an attentive Stones fan. I bought it just by listening to some of it in the store. I enjoyed the richness of the presentation & orchestrations. The Quintet is terrific, and they're each spotlighted periodically. I particularly enjoy the vocalist, Bernard Fowler, who I understand did some earlier reggae recordings (couldn't prove it by me). He's got some nice ways with a lot of numbers here, particularly "Good Morning Heartache," "I've Got a Crush on You" (which opens the disc and captured me immediately), and "Stairway to the Stars." A beautiful soft jazz album of old standards from unexpected sources -- wonderfully listenable."
Jazz brilliance. A Sheer delight. Simply beautiful.

"Charlie departs the hard rocking rhythm of the Rolling Stones and takes you through a jazz web of sheer beauty. Charlie has always loved jazz and he is by far one of the most prolific and pure drummers in the world today. He takes percussion very seriously as it should be and delivers with a resounding punch. This is a wonderful piece of work and shows his talent and knowledge and background in the world of jazz. This is a must own for all Stones fans and lovers of great jazz music. I do hope that Charlie continues his amazing percussion work in the jazz venue. He is a one of a kind musician and the quintet is stunning."

"Charlie Watts sure knows how to rekindle romance and soft candlelight with the likes of "Long Ago and Far Away", a song itself that re-assures magical moments of love splendors. The exquisite musical arrangements and the musicians themselves are top-notch. The versatility of the drumming Rolling Stoner Charlie himself lends wonder to the lush finesse of the CD itself. I truly enjoy the delightful titles within, and what better to do than to put on the album in the wee small hours of the evening if you know what true romance is all about...Enjoy!!"

"If you liked Charlie's 1993 release "Warm and Tender" you will enjoy this one as well.
Gershwin,Cahn,Cole Porter just to name a few of the song writers in this 14 track collection. Unlike the Australian reviewer I think Bernard Fowler vocals are wonderful! silky smooth ,romantic voice. His vocals sometimes reminds me of a Nat King Cole. This is a cd that won't dissapoint, so light a candle open a bottle of your favorite wine and relax and listen to this excellent cd."
