CD Reviews

Essential Blues album
Stephen P. Wall | Ballard (ya sure you betcha ) Seattle, WA USA | 09/05/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album of hard driven rock and roll blues ranks along with sacred classics such as "The Paul Butterfield Blues Band" (self-titled), "Howling Wolf-The London Sessions, Muddy Waters-Fathers and Sons and B.B. King-Live at the Regal. There is a quote on the back cover from Charlie himself saying "This is the best damn band I've ever had". This is probably true. The guitar and harmonica played unison screaming solos sometimes and other times there is whirling improv. The lyrics have the right combination of bar-stool wisdom and genuine pain. Charlie veteran whiskey gravel vocals are perfection itself. Don't miss this great album!"
Harmonica brilliance
Grant Meredith | ballarat, victoria Australia | 11/01/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"All I have to say that if you are a harmonica fan, a player or if it is your future then Musselwhite is your man! This is a truely fantastic CD show casing some of Charlie's excellent tunes. He is a wonderful blues man and American harmonica icon.Buy this and feel his emotion and the power of his instrument."
Sometimes older is better...
chris | carson city, nevada | 05/11/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Charlie is pretty traditional blues but they write some great music and I think any blues fan would love this CD. I compare him with William Clarke which is a compliment to Charlie. Keep it up Charlie...sometimes older is better!"
