"Charlie Moore is probably the most underheard singer in Bluegrass, which is a crying shame, because in my opinion he had the finest voice ever. You know a singer is great when he can make you feel a song and send shivers up your spine. Out of all the Charlie Moore albums I have, his King efforts are some of my favorites. And this to me was one of the best.Charlie's voice is strong and smooth as silk, while Bill Napiers baritone and clean lead guitar and banjo shine. Napier was the father of the Stanley style lead guitar and it shines on this album. The song selection is powerful as well. Several of the songs were written by Charlie, who was a great songwriter{He wrote the famed "Legend of the rebel soldier"] as is exhibited on the powerful "Praise God I'm Ready to go." And we get a taste of Charlie's tremendous voice on"god had his way" Clean, solid, picking and tremendous vocals by Charlie make this a winner. I hope many will come to appreciate the underappreciated and buy this album...."
