"Charlie McCoy has long been the pre-eminent harmonica player in Country music, appearing on over 6,000 recordings by nearly everybody in Nashville as well as playing on Rock classics by Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkle and more. While Nashville slipped into loungy, over-produced music, Charlie has kept the original soul of Country alive. He's produced over a dozen solo albums in his career and this one is easily my personal favorite. It features two cuts from Area Code 615, an ill-fated project that Charlie participated in during the late 1960's. Consisting of Nashville studio great, the group was one of the first to explore the melding of Country and Rock musics. There are also cuts that explore the range of Charlie's immense talent; "Birdland" by Weather Report, "Fingertips" by Stevie Wonder and several Blues and Country tunes make this an amazing glimpse into a talent that usually gets relegated into the Country category. If you want to see more of Country music's greatest harmonica player, I definitely suggest that you purchase this CD and give it a few listens."
