It's Charlie Feathers

"You gotta wonder why Charlie Feathers didn't make it. Lack of promotion? Attitude problem? Kinda weak in the vocal department? Still, Charlie should have been a hero in rock-a-billy. Everybody stole concepts from him. Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly. This CD is great as it covers an extended period of time, 1954 to 1973, and shows how the style developed. The two versions of Bottle to the Baby really show the birth of rock-a-billy. From beginning to end, Charlie never gave up and was good enough that people kept trying to pull a hit out of him. If you're into those spectacular mid-fifties sounds out of Memphis, this CD's a must have."
