This CD features two excellent piano trio sessions co-led by the volcanic bass virtuoso. On the first session, with the outstanding pianist Hampton Hawes and the drummer Danny Richmond, the repertory consists of four standards and three original composition - two blues and Mingus' homage to Dizzy Gillespie titled 'Dizzy Moods', The second session corresponds to pianist Paul Bley's recording debut as a leader with Art Blakey on drums. The repertory includes five standards, four original compositions and a blues number. Also features four bonus tracks (three unissued tracks and one alternate take). Disconforme.
