Charity and the JAMband is a tribe of musicians, performers, and parents from San Francisco creating an original, rockin', and soulful music and dance experience for families. Due to the huge and positive response from families craving live and recorded music experiences all ages can enjoy together, the JAMband is on its fourth CD and gigs regularly around the Bay Area and beyond. For parents and kids who want to move beyond nursery songs and banal, mindless mainstream kids music, these tunes blur the line between children's music and music that is, simply put, good. Charity Kahn, founder and leader of Charity and the JAMband, draws upon her experience as a musician, composer, performer, award-winning recording artist, teacher, author, mathematician, rock climber, and, most of all, mother in creation of the organic and evolving experience that is JAM. Under the umbrella of the JAM Music and Movement Experience, Charity guides parent/child music and movement classes, performs both solo and with the JAMband at libraries, schools, music clubs, and restaurants, offers training workshops, and produces recordings.
