Synopsis

Product Description
Chandeen returns with another timeless jewel. As one of the originators of the genre that came to be known as "Heavenly Voices," Harald Löwy remains as chief song-writer and instrumentalist, with a new vocalist for this incarnation of Chandeen: Julia Beyer who lends a more fragile, autumn character to the songs. These songs sound more inspired, more intimate and yes, in some respects more mature and developed then past releases. Julia Beyer's sad, but strong voice stands in sympathetic contrast and floats in concurrent harmony with Löwy's tearfully beautiful songs.

CD Reviews

Beautiful melancholy
Clarissa Bowen | Ontario, California USA | 05/05/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Its been awhile since we've heard from Chandeen but they've returned in 2008 with the breathtaking TEENAGE POETRY sounding refreshed and full of renewed life. This time around the group features a brand new singer, Julia Beyer (whom you might recognize from In Strict Confidence or most recently, Technoir), and a more mature, sophisticated sound. The hypnotic, ethereal pop harmonies are tranquil yet warm and vibrant (reminiscent of autumn-time, marking their new beginning perhaps) with beautiful, melancholic lyrics and lush, emotional soundscapes, making for one remarkable, unforgettable album.

Standout songs include "Welcome The Still", "From The Inside", and the more edgy "Clean The Traces".

There's also a bonus track with singer Anji Bee of Lovespirals Downwards."
