"This is the Challengers Band's second album. It followed the amazing success of their first album Surfbeat. Surfbeat was the first album of what became known as surf music.Lloyd Thaxton was a local TV/Dance show host that was popular in Southern California in the '60's.The Challengers recorded the title song for his show "So What" and it is included here.If you like electric guitar instrumental music from the 60's as heard in the sound track of Pulp Fiction, you'll like this recording. The tracks are 'chestnuts' that the band performed live at dances... songs that always 'worked.'If you were around during the 60's you'll probably recognize several of the tunes. "Moondog" was used every week for Lyon's Drag Strip commercials and other tracks found their way into surf films and televisions shows. The Challengers recorded 28 albums under various names between 1960 and '66. I remember... because I'm the original bass player... and still live in Malibu and surf."
