"I'm not sure who their target audience is on this album (Evora fans or danceclubtechno fans). Judging by the fact that there are no reviews for this cd, apparently no one is buying it!I have a couple Cesaria Evora cd's. I love her voice, love the music; it just seems like you're on a tropical ocean village when you're listening to her cd's.I also like a fair amount of dance/techno/electronica/ whatever you want to call it. So I expected this to be an interesting, good cd.It somehow misses the mark. Most of the songs are really bland and a bit repetitive on the remixing. They don't add a lot to the originals; rather, they take away from the originals. You lose that world-ly feel that you get on the originals. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend this one new or used. I'd stick to the regular albums only."
A great remixed anthology.

"Released shortly after the ANTHOLOGY (or THE VERY BEST OF CESARIA EVORA) album, the one and only diva of Cabo Verde melts our heart (and blow away our mind this time) with her light-heartedly deep vocal amidst the splendour of remixed sound masterminds. The great opening PETIT PAYS by Chateau Flight comes in mesmerizingly different beat with a hypnotic background trance. Carl Craig's light base ANGOLA quickly followed up to kick start a party mood from a repeat chorus arrangement slowly adding to a swirling groove. By the end of the next NHO ANTONE ESCADERODE, the highlight sets in. The tantalizing Señor Coconut's BESAME MUCHO, a new level of chachacha sound experience as much as you can maximize a dancer's stamina. Two chiller tracks passed, Cris Prolific's yearning NEGUE closes the soulful gap post a B-side mellower journey begun by 4 Hero's MISS PERFUMADO. Immaculate lenthy sythesizing, the right timing and the most confident track way to win a remix lover's heart. And not long after ANGOLO re-emerged twice back to back with more remixes, François K has us contently find the exit with a moderate vampy version of SANGUE DE BEIRONA.This dance collection is comparatively durable to play and listening to. Wonderful, timeless and missing it is unimaginable for the fans."

"Bondad e Maldade has a great beat, Negue is hypnotic and Sodade reminded me of Rozalla's 'Everybody is Free'. Cesaria's unmistakeable alto voice lulls you while the beat make you want to shake and sway. In between, a comfortable, melodic heaven any music lover will enjoy."
Surreal, deliciously seductive, and totally unique.

"I truly "like all kinds of music"...as such I make it a point to deliberately expose myself to a whole host of different genres. That said, I can't remember the last time the part of my brain that identifies music with a label ("that's mushroom jazz...or, that's neo-funk) has been so confused. This CD is so fresh, so completely unique, but still comfortable?! From first listen there is attraction, with each listen, your seduced by new things you find in the rhythm, with the lyrics, the "other-worldly" samples...If you love this CD, consider Federico Aubele, or Sisi.Hope this was helpful..."
