Superb Schumann Concerto

"With Casals/Ormandy, this is the finest Schumann Cello Concerto available. Fournier plays with passion, a necessity in this piece with its violent accents and strong expression. Fricsay provides a vigorous counterpart in the accompaniment. The sound is very good, and the complements of Shostakovitch and Martinu are well worth hearing."
