CD ReviewsThe best thing to happen to Rockabilly since the Stray Cats 11/07/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) ""Fast Cars and Smoky Bars" is a great CD, it's full of energy and enthsiasm. While listening to this CD it was impossible to stay in my seat, the music had me drumming on my desk and tapping my feet, Bo "Sammy" Sample leads this bunch with his Bass slappin' lyric singin' self, while Steven Scott strumms the electric guitar while howlin' with the backup vocals, followed by Dustin "Ol' Smokey" Hutchinson howlin' with Steven on the backup vocals and playin' the rythmn guitar, and last but not least Paul Ward is drummin' on the skins with the best skin playin' West of the Mississippi I have ever heard, all together this quartet makes the best music I've heard in a while (exept for Mr.Stray Cat himself Brain Setzer) these guys have a great sound and the only way this band will be going is up!" The best rockabilly debut since the Stray Cats 11/19/1999 (5 out of 5 stars) "I am must say that Cave Catt Sammy is the best rockabilly band in Texas and one of the best in the United States. They do not let me down with their incredible debut on big bellied records. Beau's slappin' bass leads the charge and the rest of the band: Steve-guitar, Dustin-acoustic guitar, paul-drums prove that these young catts are the real deal. This debut cd leaves you begging for more. If you have caught them live last year at Viva Las Vegas or have ever seen this band live, you only wish that their next cd comes out soon. They have played with Big Sandy, Kim Lenz, Deke Dickerson, Ronnie Dawson and the list goes on. However, if their next cd sounds better than "fast cars and smokey bars" those great rockabilly acts may be opening for Cave Catt Sammy around the corner. The rockabilly scene needs a young band to shake things up and prove to everyone that their is more than just Stray Cats' cover bands out there."
