Volume One is the 1975 Greatest Hits package, which collects Cat Stevens's key tracks nicely. Since his golden years were over (and well anthologized) by the time Volume 2 came out, this disc is essentially an addendum--gathering songs left off the first volume without representing much of note from Stevens's later albums. There's worthy material here (including songs from the Harold and Maude soundtrack), but "Footsteps in the Dark" isn't meant to stand on its own. For a more comprehensive dose of Stevens, try the Classics Vol. 24 package--or bookend this collection with its other half. --Gavin McNett
